How and When Was Man Created?

Answer: Man was created by God and His only begotten Son as expressed in Gen. 1:26,27: “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (27) So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” The Bible clearly indicates that man was created by God and did not evolve from any other life form.

Gen. 2:7,8 confirms the creation of man: “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (8) And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.”

David confirms the creation of man in Psa. 8:4-6: “What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?(5) For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. (6) Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet.”

The apostle James confirms the creation of men in James 3:9 (NASB), “men, who have been made in the likeness of God.” Paul endorses the creation story by mentioning Adam’s sin as the reason all men die. “For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.” (1 Cor. 15:22 NASB)

Man was created at the end of the sixth creative day. “God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.” (Gen. 1:31)
